T-Shirt – “Soft Serve” Sally and the Low Light Bay-window Ice Cream Van

Sally is enjoying a soft serve ice cream from a VW Bay-window  Kombi  converted into an ice cream van – This van is also referred to as a “low light” because the early models had  their indicators placed low at the front. The later models are referred to as “high lights” because the indicators were placed high up by the air grill.

Soft serve has been sold commercially since the late 1930s. The first ice cream van with soft whip ice cream had emerged in 1956 around the streets of West Philadelphia on St. Patrick’s Day.
